Hepatic Peptide Bioregulator

Ovagen is the tripeptide Glu-Asp-Leu (EDL), characterized within the Khavinson series as a bioregulator for hepatic (liver) tissue, with additional interest in gastrointestinal epithelium. Despite the name, the compound is described in the source literature in a hepatic rather than reproductive context.

Ovagen and Livagen are the two liver-oriented peptides in the series, and the distinction is structural: Ovagen is a three-residue ED-family peptide (EDL), while Livagen is a four-residue KEDA peptide with an additional dual immune orientation. Ovagen shares its Glu-Asp opening with Pinealon (EDR), Chonluten (EDG), and Crystagen (EDP), differing only at the third residue, leucine. Cell-based and organotypic tissue-culture studies from the originating laboratory examine hepatocyte function, protein-synthesis and chromatin regulation, and tissue-regeneration signaling.

Common Questions
What is Ovagen?+
Ovagen is a Hepatic Peptide Bioregulator supplied for laboratory research. Liver-derived bioregulator studied in vitro for hepatocyte function pathway modeling, tissue regeneration signaling research, and chromatin regulation mechanism analysis.
What tissue does the Ovagen bioregulator target?+
Ovagen (Glu-Asp-Leu) is a peptide bioregulator derived from liver tissue, studied in vitro for hepatocyte function and chromatin-regulation signaling.
How is Ovagen different from Livagen?+
Both are liver-oriented peptide bioregulators, and the difference is structural. Ovagen is the three-residue tripeptide Glu-Asp-Leu (EDL). Livagen is the four-residue tetrapeptide Lys-Glu-Asp-Ala (KEDA) and carries an additional immune orientation, with its most-cited research concerning chromatin decondensation. Ovagen is studied more narrowly for hepatocyte function and gastrointestinal epithelium.
What is lyophilized Ovagen, and how is it reconstituted?+
Ovagen is supplied as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder, a dehydrated form that keeps the peptide stable during shipping and storage. In the laboratory it is reconstituted (returned to liquid form) using a solvent such as bacteriostatic water, added slowly against the side of the vial, which is then swirled gently, never shaken, until the powder fully dissolves. All handling is for in vitro research use only.
How should Ovagen be stored?+
Store the lyophilized Ovagen powder at -20°C, protected from light and moisture, where it remains stable long-term. Once reconstituted, keep it refrigerated (2-8°C) and use it within the timeframe appropriate for your research protocol.
What is the purity of Ovagen, and how is it tested?+
Every batch of Ovagen is produced to a purity of 99% or higher. Purity and molecular identity are verified using standard analytical methods: high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to measure purity, and mass spectrometry (MS) to confirm the peptide's molecular weight.
